I achieved a first class BSc degree in Marine Biology from Swansea University in 2016, qualified as a Teacher of Science in 2018 and recently completed an MSc in Environmental Biology: Conservation and Resource Management; achieving a Distinction and two further awards for ‘Best dissertation project’ and ‘Overall highest grade’. During my masters I focussed on resource management, EIA, GIS and remote sensing which I am continuously developing as I work towards becoming a GIS Analyst/ Environmental Consultant (heavily incorporating the use of GIS, data analytics and drone technologies).
I enjoy keeping up to date and incorporating modern technologies into my work, both as a teacher and in my hopes of becoming a GIS Analyst. I am experimenting with the use of drones and QField to conduct habitat mapping and completing courses in R, Python and AutoCAD to optimise my skills in GIS analysis. My GIS dissertation project involved mapping the hydrology of a Welsh peatland and modelling where peat dams should be erected to optimise restoration efforts allowing for the greatest area of water pooling. Furthermore, to quantify the restoration outcomes I collected and analysed water samples to gather a water quality baseline prior to restoration.
I am currently working as a GIS Technician for Swansea University on their Green Infrastructure project looking to strengthen the connection between communities and the natural environment in South Wales.
I look forward to working with a forward thinking company that supports their staff to keep learning and also allows time for volunteering to improve the lives of those in the community; especially in inspiring children to enjoy STEM topics.

In my role as an ArcGIS Advisor I show customers and prospects how they can tackle the most complex operational and logistical challenges, by taking a locational intelligence approach, across Public Safety and Transport.
As a specialist in drone imagery and real-time data analysis I have experience in how, using Site Scan for ArcGIS, organisations can gain enhanced situational awareness to help validate and support decision-making.
For example:
For police forces, determining and managing resources on the ground at public events or emergency incidents.
For the emergency services, helping to route responders to the scene and provide a 3D view of the incident to improve Concept of Operations (ConOps) efficiency.
For transport organisations, the ability to unlock critical assets, derive spatial insights and trigger alerts.
